The design draws on the Peranakan shophouses of Katong, with motifs inspired by them woven into the development, and the landscape translates the patchwork of Peranakan quilts into a tapestry of water, plants, decks and pavilions. The six towers, with glass facades, are oriented mainly north and south for ventilation and cross-wind, and stand on an elevated landscape deck over the basement car park.

Emerald of Katong’s 846 units run from the 1 Bedroom + Study layout of 45 sqm (484 sqft) to 5 Bedroom Luxe layouts of up to 145 sqm (1,561 sqft), drawn as 44 layouts in ten bands. Two-bedroom units make up 288 of the total, three-bedroom units 282, four-bedroom units 158 and five-bedroom units 36, with 82 in the 1 Bedroom + Study band. Every 4-bedroom and 5-bedroom layout has a wet and dry kitchen, and in Block 59 the four 18th-storey units have a 5m ceiling over the living and dining area. Emerald of Katong’s 57 facilities are grouped into six zones on the landscape deck and at Basement 1, all listed on the Emerald of Katong project info page with every facility by zone. The Active Zone is set around a 50m lap pool; the Wellness Zone has a relaxation pool, a vitality pool, an aqua gym pool and healing and spa coves; the Adventure Zone has wading and splash pools, The Beach Club and two gourmet pavilions; and the two-storey Emerald Club holds the gymnasium, The Emerald Room and rooms for meetings, co-working, games and reading. Four function rooms and a tennis court complete the set.

Every kitchen has Miele appliances, an engineered stone counter top and a Hansgrohe mixer: an induction hob in the 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom layouts, a gas hob in the larger layouts, and in Block 59 a 5-zone gas hob with a Miele steamer and a Vintec wine chiller. Bathrooms carry Hansgrohe fittings and Laufen sanitary ware, air-conditioning is by Mitsubishi Electric, and living and dining areas have porcelain tiles, or natural marble in Block 59, with engineered timber in the bedrooms. A smart community system provides a digital lockset for the main door, a smart intercom at secured lobbies, remote air-conditioning control, a smart community app, facilities access, parcel collection and e-invitations for visitors.

Bedrooms and bathrooms are built with PPVC, as are some living and kitchen areas, and PPVC walls cannot be hacked or drilled. Solar panels on the roofs of Blocks 51, 53, 55 and 63 power the common areas, 7 of the 682 basement car park lots have EV charging points, and a pneumatic waste conveyance system serves every block. In September 2025, Emerald of Katong received a provisional BCA Green Mark Platinum Super Low Energy award.
